Job Responsibilities

* Assisting the Captain with administrative and safety duties
* Assisting the Captain with navigation and passage planning
* Management of deck crew and maintaining crew discipline
* Setting watch schedules
* Maintenance and inventory of deck equipment
* Stowage of yacht for sea
* Navigation
* Adhering to deck budget
* Continued education and licensing

Job Skills Required

* Ability to stand in for Captain in his absence
* Ability to delegate and effective communicator
* Extensive maintenance knowledge and skills- cleaning, rust/corrosion, painting, varnishing, rope splicing, fiberglass, carpentry, outboard motors and maintenance product knowledge
* Basic engineering knowledge
* Watch keeping and safety knowledge
* Excellent tender driving skills
* Advanced knowledge of all water sports
* Organized, diplomatic and versatile
