Engineering Position MEOL

About the OOW Engineer (MEOL)

The engineer with a marine engine operator license possess working knowledge of yacht safety procedures, an understanding of the basic systems on superyachts, a “can-do” attitude and willingness to learn. This position often involves detailed inventory and record keeping as well as cleaning/maintenance of the engine room. This role requires good references, demonstrated skillful trouble shooting abilities, some deck knowledge to assist as needed and a minimum of two years of experience in an engineering capacity.

Job Responsibilities
  • Safety in the engine room
  • Cleanliness and maintenance in the engine room
  • Increasing knowledge of all systems onboard
  • Continued education and licensing
Required Skills
  • Knowledge of general systems on board, i.e. diesel, refrigeration, air conditioning, plumbing, electronics and outboards
  • Team player, able to assist with some deck duties, i.e. line handling, water sports
  • Flexible and adaptable
Salary Modifiers
  • Degree in mechanical engineering or related field
  • Engine room refit experience
  • Outboard engine certification/experience
  • Tender driving certification
